Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation

I bought the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation last year after hearing really good reviews about it. It was the first Chanel foundation that I had ever bought. It was also the first high end foundation I had ever bought.

I would say the coverage of this foundation is light to medium. If you build it to a medium coverage, it still looks really natural. Chanel say this foundation looks like a "second-skin" which I completely agree with. It manages to even out my skin tone and make my skin look flawless whilst still looking like I have no foundation on. I occasionally get a few dry patches on my cheeks which some foundations cling to but this one doesn't. It is quite watery and light which I really like as I find it is easier to blend and means it looks more natural. Because it is water based you have to shake it before each use, to mix it all together and stop water from just coming out. The finish of this is quite dewy and glowy. I get slightly oily around my nose and chin, so I can be a bit sceptical about using dewy foundations, however this one looks great. I always use a primer and set my foundation with powder and this foundation lasts the whole day on me. I never need to touch it up during the day at all.
The packaging of this foundation is quite nice. It is plastic, not glass like other Chanel foundations which makes it more compact and easier to travel with, however it doesn't feel as luxurious. It is a squeezy bottle rather then a pump which I actually prefer.

The only negative is the shade range. There are only 9 shades which isn't many so I would recommend having a look and getting colour matched before you think about buying this. This foundation is available from most department stores for £31.

There is a compact version of the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation that has just come out which I am considering trying. Have you tried the compact version? Have you tried any Chanel foundations?

Chanel Perfection Lumiere

The long awaited Chanel foundation was released earlier this year - Chanel Perfection Lumiere. They discontinued Pro Lumiere and Matte Lumiere which I was disappointed about, and I know a lot of other people were as well.

This foundation claims to offer a fluid, lightweight coverage, stay put for 15 hours and provide a radiant yet matte finish.

I had a sample of this foundation and I was eager to try it. When I first applied it, the foundation was quite a heavy coverage and it definately looked like I was wearing foundation. I was expecting it to be very natural and provide a 'no makeup' look, but it didn't. The initial finish of this foundation was matte and it seemed to cling slightly to any dry areas on my face. Throughout the day though, the foundation seemed to settle nicely on my face and looked a lot more natural. The finish didn't stay matte for long, as the natural oils of my face came through to provide a radiant and glowing finish. Overall, I did really like the finish of this foundation once it eventually settled into a really nice radiant look.

The colour range is fantastic! This foundation is available in 23 shades.

I cannot honestly say whether this foundation stayed put for 15 hours as I don't think I ever left it on for that long, but it definately stayed looking perfect all day.

This foundation is available for £36 from various department stores.

BareMinerals Pure Transformation Night Treatment.

BareMinerals night treatment is a face powder that you wear to bed and it is proven to improve the look and feel of skin whilst you sleep. I heard about this a while ago but to be quite honest, I was very sceptical about trying it; wearing a foundation-like powder to sleep sounded bizarre!

I popped to a BareMinerals counter the other week and I took the opportunity to ask the makeup artist about the night treatment and have a try of it on my hand. It sounded and looked amazing, so I purchased it. It's available in a variety of 4 shades - clear, light, medium and tan. I got the colour light.

I have had this for about a month now and have used it about 3 - 4 times per week and I must say, I love it! I honestly cannot think of anything bad about this product. It does everything it says on the tin!

The BareMinerals Night Treatment is the only thing I have changed in my skincare routine and my skin has definately improved. All of my blemishes have either disappeared or reduced drastically and my skins overall appearance is very radiant and healthy. My skin tone is more even and any redness I usually have has all reduced, if not gone completely!

This treatment is pretty pricey at £38, but I would definately recommend it.
