Spring lipsticks

Left to right: YSL Rouge Volupte, 02 - Chanel Rouge Coco Shine, Evasion - Jemma Kidd Gloss-stick, Holders - Rimmel Apocalips, Luna - Tanya Burr lipgloss, Afternoon Tea

I am not one to wear lip products everyday - a lot of the time I just pop on some lip balm and leave it at that. Once spring and summer come around though, I think lipsticks can just add something so pretty and bright to a look. I thought I would show you my top 5 spring lip products!

Starting with lipsticks, the YSL one isn't a colour I tend to go for, however if I am in the mood for a nude lip then this will be my choice. The formula is extremely creamy, whilst having fairly good staying power.

The Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks are my favourite high-end lip products. Evasion is my favourite for the sunnier, brighter months, as it's such a gorgeous peachy pink shade. It lasts so well throughout the day and is sheer but buildable.

My Jemma Kidd lipstick is one I have had for ages now. The colour is a flattering red/pink with some subtle shimmer, which makes it so pretty in the spring time. I love red lips and this is just a subtle, easy to wear pinky toned red.

The Rimmel Apocalips in Luna is a true peach colour. It's got a slight orange tone to it, whereas the Chanel lipstick is a more of a pinky peach. The Apocalips are a lipstick, lip gloss, lip stain hybrid, so have fab pigmentation and staying power!

Finally is my newest lip purchase - Tanya Burr lipgloss in Afternoon Tea. The formulation is so creamy, soft and not at all sticky on the lips. The colour is definitely my kind of colour - a gorgeous, natural pink.

I would love to know you favourite lip products for the brighter months!

Max Factor Creme Puff

I have mentioned my Max Factor Crème Puff powder a couple of times recently, so thought I would write a full review for you. I received this for Christmas and used it a lot to start with, however it hasn't maintained a permanent place in my everyday makeup routine.

As I have mentioned before, there is quite a strong scent to this. I personally love it and scents don't tend to bother me. Do bear that in mind though if you don't like scented products! I have this in the shade translucent, which does have quite a bit of colour to it. This disappointed me a little, as I am pale and this can go a bit orange on my skin. I don't use too much of this because as well as being a bit dark, it feels very heavy on the skin.

I will keep this, however my favourite powder is still my Rimmel Stay Matte!

What is your favourite face powder?

Mini Boots haul

I love going into Boots and treating myself to some new things! I popped in the other day and only picked up a few products, so thought I would do a mini haul post.

They currently have 3 for 2 on skincare and body care, so I bought two items for myself and one for my boyfriend (how kind of me!) I have been considering buying the Vaseline spray and go for a while and am so glad I finally did! I don't use body moisturisers very often at all, as I find I have to wait a bit longer to get dressed and it's a bit of a faff. This is fab and I love it, even after just using it once! It sinks in so quickly, meaning I was able to get dressed immediately after. It smells and feels lovely, plus left my skin feeling nice and moisturised.

Also with the 3 for 2 offer, I bought the Indeed Hydraluron face masks. I have heard brilliant things about Indeed, however had never tried anything from the brand. I was a bit reluctant at first to buy these, as they seemed quite pricey at £20 for four masks. I thought they would be worth a go though and I have used one which I really liked. Normal masks can be quite messy sometimes, so I love that these are sheet masks - no water required!

The final product I picked up is the Charles Worthington texturising spray. I have been tempted to try a texturising spray for a while, however couldn't bring myself to splash out on the Oribe one! I decided to give this a try and am excited to start using it. I have used it once so far, however haven't yet given it a proper try.

I would love to know if you have tried any of these products! Also, please let me know if there is anything you would recommend for me when I next pop into Boots.

Products I'm trying: March

You may have seen at the start of February I wrote a products I'm trying post. I am going to be writing these at the start of every month and then writing a products I tried post at the end. A lot of you seem to enjoy these posts so far which is fab!

Foundations are something I love trying, so I recently bought a new one. I will be trying out the Liz Earle signature foundation this month which I am looking forward to. I have never tried any makeup from Liz Earle before, however I love their skincare so am hoping I love this too!

I read a review recently on the Collection deluxe lipstick, so I decided to buy one for myself. I don't wear lip products that often, so tend to go for high-street rather than high-end! I hope this is nice as I like other Collection products I own.

I recently received the Bakewell Company multi-purpose pocket balm in my Love me beauty box. I am going to be using this on my lips mainly, however I may try it out on my skin and see how it is. It smells amazing so I am loving it so far!

Another product from my beauty box is the Percy & Reed dry conditioner. This is a product I have never heard of before and don't really know what it does, so I am very intrigued!

You may have read my Lush haul recently and my final product to try is the H'Suan Wen Hua hair treatment. I feel a hair treatment is something that can take a bit longer to show results, so hopefully by the end of March I will have seen good results in my hair!

Please let me know if you have tried any of these products!

Korres Almond and Linseed mask

I love using hair masks, however a lot of them come in tubs which I am not too fond of. If I am in the shower and trying to open a tub, it usually gets water in it and then the mask starts dripping everywhere! When I saw this hair mask from Korres, I immediately decided to try it as I love the fact it is in a tube and have heard great things about the brand.

This isn't a mask that left my hair feeling incredibly soft and smooth after one use. It has gradually improved and softened my hair and after 2/3 uses, my hair is more manageable, smooth and looks healthy.

I love using this in the shower. It feels like a thick conditioner and leaves my hair feeling so nourished and healthy. I would highly recommend this and am tempted to try more from the range! This mask is available here for £10.

Becca Luminous Skin Colour

I have heard various good things about Becca products, so thought it was about time I tried something! I decided to try the Luminous Skin Colour, as lately I have been wearing either no foundation or very light foundations, so thought this would be a nice product to try.

This is a combination of a tinted moisturiser and a sheer foundation, so leaves skin looking incredibly natural and radiant. I love the texture of this as it is very light and blends into the skin amazingly well. The coverage really isn't high at all, however I find it is perfect for evening out my skin and leaving it looking healthy. Then if I need it, I just pop a bit of concealer on over the top of this.

I bought the shade Porcelain, which is the perfect match for me. As you can see in the photos above, the products just melts into the skin and leaves a gorgeous glow. I think this would be brilliant underneath a foundation as well, so if I did want a little bit more coverage, I could just use this as a base.

Have you tried any Becca products? Let me know your recommendations, as I would love to try some more.

Lush haul

I haven't been to Lush for a little while, so I decided to pop in the other day and have a look! I came out with some things, all of which I have never used before, so I thought I would show you. All of these are products Meg mentioned in her Lush haul! She said they were amazing, so I thought I would have a look at them and give them a try.

The deodorant and toothpaste were the most unusual products, so I definitely wanted to give them a go. The Aromaco is a solid block deodorant, which you rub on your underarms. The toothy tabs are little tablets which you chew between your front teeth and then use a toothbrush to clean your teeth.

I also bought some hair products. I picked up the Fairly Traded Honey shampoo, which I think smells amazing! I have used this already and it seems really nice. I have also used the H'Suan Wen Hua hair treatment. This is one you use on dry hair and then follow with a shampoo and conditioner, which I really like.

Finally, they gave me two little samples. Lush are amazing at giving out samples, so definitely ask them for some if you are unsure on whether to buy a product. I received the Curly Wurly shampoo and Retread conditioner.

Let me know if you have tried any of these products. I would love to know your favourite items from Lush!

Tanya Burr lips and nails

I'm sure a lot of you have heard about Tanya Burr's new lips and nails collection. I bought a lip gloss and two nails polishes as soon as they were released!

The lip gloss is in Afternoon Tea, which is such a gorgeous, creamy texture. It's not sticky at all, so feels amazing and soft on the lips. I really like the sponge applicator this lip gloss has and the shade is a very wearable, pretty pink. It's not overly bright, brown or shimmery - just a gorgeous, natural shade!

I bought nail polishes in Penguin Chic and Mini Marshmallows. In the photos above, I have shown them both with just one coat, however they are buildable. The nail polishes are both so glossy and apply amazingly well. The formula is thin, which I love and doesn't streak or run at all. The brush is the perfect size so that a nail is coated within 2-3 sweeps, which makes application fast and enjoyable.

I really like mini marshmallows with just one coat, as it is fairly sheer, incredibly glossy and looks simple.

Let me know if you have tried anything from this collection, as I am definitely going to be buying some more!

All of Tanya's collection is available here.

Love Me Beauty: February edition

I used to receive Glossybox every month, however I stopped a while ago because lots of the products weren't that great for me. I have seen a few reviews on the Love Me Beauty box, so thought I would try it! Something I love about this, is you can actually see the products before you buy the box. There is a choice between 3 boxes where you can see the products, or a mystery box! Each box will contain 4-5 products, with 1-2 of those being full-size and the others being travel-sized.

The only thing that disappointed me slightly about this, is there isn't actually a box! The products are just in a cardboard posting box lined with tissue paper! It's good because it will save waste, however I was expecting a nice box like other beauty box brands provide.

In my February box, I received a full-size Percy and Reed dry conditioner, Beautify Me vitamin complex and Bakewell Soap Company multi-purpose pocket balm. My sample products were La Claree smooth day face care and a Murad tonic, which was my mystery product.

I am excited to try these products and will review some of them once I have! The multi-purpose balm smells amazing, so I'm definitely going to use this soon. I've heard good things about Percy and Reed as a brand, plus I love trying new hair products.

Have you tried any beauty boxes? I am tempted to try Birchbox, so please let me know if you have tried that one.

Tag: The blogger made me buy it

I love seeing various tags on blogs, so when Georgina tagged me to do this one, I started typing straight away!

1. Who are your most influential bloggers? Who are the ones that you really rely on for reviews and swatches?

Vivianna and Lily Pebbles are two of my favourite bloggers. They blog about amazing products and most of them are added to my wishlist! Alix is also another influential blogger as her reviews are amazing.

2. Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review from your favourite bloggers, or do you look for more reviews from others?

If one of my favourite bloggers writes a brilliant review about something, that product will usually be added to my wishlist. I will then google more reviews to check it's something I would like.

3. What is your favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?

Probably my Nars blush in Deep Throat. It is fairly expensive for a blush, so I probably wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't for other bloggers saying how nice it is. I absolutely love this and it is definitely my favourite blush I own.

4. What is your least favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?

There are not many products I own that I dislike, thankfully! I don't like the Revlon Just Bitten stain and balm. I have one which I never wear, the texture isn't nice and it fades in patches. I like the balms that look like Chubby Sticks though!

5. Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blog.

Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, Clarins Exfoliator Brightening toner, Rimmel Match Perfection foundation, L'Oreal Eau De Teint foundation and Mac Patisserie lipstick.

6. Have you ever given in to blogger hype? If so, which hype?

Definitely the Naked 3 palette. I absolutely love it and the eye-shadows are gorgeous, however I don't wear eye-shadows on a regular basis, so I didn't really need a third palette! It was just popping up everywhere and I couldn't resist the rose gold.

7. Have you ever avoided blogger hype? If so, which hype?

There seems to be a big hype around Oribe, especially their dry texturizing spray. I feel one day I may not be able to resist anymore, however for now, I have been good and haven't given in!

8. Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are there some items you buy without checking out a review?

Most things I find out about through blogs. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't know half of the products I own even existed! I do buy things without reviews though. The other week I was in Boots and I saw the L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara. I had never even heard of it but it looked nice, so I bought it.

If you do this tag, please link it below so I can read it.

Products: Daily essentials

I regularly tell you my favourite products each month and I also post reviews on products, however I thought it would be nice to tell you my daily essentials. These will be the products that I go to on a regular basis and rely on but don't tend to mention on my blog.

Starting from when I wake up, first of all I wash my face and I always use some kind of cloth for this. I like using muslin cloths and I have them stacked high in my bathroom! I soak these in water and then use them to remove the cleanser from my face. They are great to use as they remove cleanser and makeup very well, whilst also giving your skin a gentle exfoliation.

In the shower I use various shower gels. My mum and I just use the same one and are constantly trying out new ones. Currently, I am using a Dove shower gel which is really nice and creamy. Recently I have also used Radox Berry Burst, Soap and Glory and Original Source. Soap and Glory Clean on Me is my favourite shower gel and I always receive one for my Birthday or Christmas!

Before I get dressed, I spray myself with deodorant. I have been using the Sure Bright one, which is great as they also sell a compressed one which is a lot smaller!

I have spoken about my Tangle Teezer before and this is something I rely on everyday. I cannot brush through my knotty hair with anything else! This works well on wet and dry hair, so I use this every single day. I am currently giving one away in my beauty giveaway. Also, Lookfantastic have an offer here of 2 for £15 on Tangle Teezers, which is incredible! The offer ends tomorrow.

When I apply my makeup, I always have cotton pads to hand and my favourite are the Boots Baby extra large ones. I pop foundation onto the back of my hand and apply concealer with my fingers, so cotton pads are great for removing this. If I use a water cleanser then I apply it with these cotton pads and I also use them for applying toner. They are so soft and the perfect size!
