July Favourites

I don't have many favourites to show you this month! I have been using a lot of the same products I showed you in my June Favourites and I didn't want to just repeat myself, so I decided to keep this months post to new favourites! Over the past week or so I have been buying quite a few new products (whoops) so if I get on with them all, I can imagine next months favourites may be slightly long!

Let's start with skincare! My first favourite is my Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm (short and snappy eyy!) I received a sample of this in my Glossybox about 6 months ago and absolutely fell in love with it! I used up my whole 15ml sample pot and immediately ordered the full size pot! I used my 15ml sample on and off for six months because I didn't want to use it up too quickly. The full size is 100ml so this is going to last me ages! This cleanser is a balm that just melts amazingly into the skin and once water is added, it changes to an oil. It feels very luxurious and smells incredible! I love it.

Onto make up, my next favourite is my YSL Touche Eclat highlighter pen. I use this under my eyes and around my nose. I love the way it leaves my skin, so fresh, radiant and awake!

I don't tend to wear eye shadow on a daily basis, however I do like to have some colour so I have been loving Mac Paint Pot in Bare Study. This is a gorgeous champagne colour with gold pearl. I love this as I can apply a small amount for just a wash of colour, or build it up for a more pearly champagne colour. This is also a great colour to use as a highlight under the brow bone and in the corner of the eye.

For blush this month I have been loving Mac Well Dressed. This is a pink colour with subtle shimmer that adds a lovely healthy glow to the cheeks. I have had this for a while but been really loving it this month and using it pretty much everyday!

Finally is a perfume and it is Diesel Loverdose! This does smell of liquorice and I wasn't sure if I would like it because of that but I actually really do! When I first ever sprayed it I loved it and it was on my wishlist from then on! Its a fairly sweet scent and the liquorice definitely stands out but it obviously has other scents in it as well. Liquorice and vanilla are the heart notes and star anise and mandarin are the top notes. They all smell delicious! This scent stays all day - I am constantly getting whiffs of it throughout my day which is great! I would recommend giving this a sniff when you next pass a fragrance counter.

Those are all my July favourites! If you would like a full review on any of the products I have mentioned, don't hesitate to ask me in the comments!

What are your July favourites? Have you tried any of the products I have mentioned?

2. What is your favourite colour?

My favourite colour is rose gold or pink! (Not yellow any more)

3. What is your favourite food?

My favourite food is pasta!

4. If you had to choose a famous person to be your role model who would it be and why?

5. How long have you been doing your blog?

I started Beauty Becky at the end of March 2012 so just over 4 months!

6. What is one product you couldn't live without?

7. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

I love logging into Blogger to find I have a new follower or new comment on a post! I like knowing that people enjoy reading my blog and find it helpful. The comments are my favourite though - being able to communicate with people that love beauty like me and reading so many lovely comments make me so happy!

8. What goal do you want to achieve with your blog in the next 6 months?

I am just going to carry on writing blog posts and hope people like reading them and find them useful! My top five beauty products are foundation, mascara, hair oil, perfume and nail polish!

10. What do you look for in a foundation?

I like a foundation that is very natural and light/medium coverage. I like it to make my skin look natural, healthy and radiant! I also don't like foundations that feel heavy so a light weight foundation is ideal!

Beauty Becky - I'm very inventive here!

My 11 questions!

My Everyday Make Up Routine!

This is my 50th post and I thought I would make it a little bit special by writing about my make up routine! I review lots of products on my blog, so I thought a make up routine would be a fab post as you will get to see which products I rely on and use on a daily basis!

Just a little note, I love all these products dearly so a lot of them already have full reviews. If I haven't written a lot about a product here then it's probably because I have a full review on it already and I will link the product name to the review!

To start with, I always always use a primer. I get slightly oily down the centre of my face so a primer is great as it stops me looking so shiny and helps my make up last all day. I have tried a few different primers and hands down, my absolute favourite is the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer. This primer is absolutely amazing! It is so silky, creamy, my foundation blends smoothly over the top and my make up lasts all day.

Next is foundation! I have a couple of favourite foundations that I switch between depending on whether my skin is behaving well or not. My go to foundation at the moment however is the YSL Touche Eclat foundation. It is a very lightweight foundation that leaves a dewy, natural, light coverage to the skin - absolute perfection!

After foundation I use Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer. I have gone through 3 tubes of this concealer and I love it (obviously)! It effortlessly covers any blemishes or discolouration I have on my skin. It never ever looks cakey or dry, it just smooths over any blemishes, covers them instantly and stays put all day! What more could I ask for! The shade range isn't that great with only four shades but if there is a shade to suit you I would definitely recommend trying this concealer!

I next use my YSL Touche Eclat highligher pen! I use this underneath my eyes and around my nose. It highlights these areas and is very radiant and light reflecting. This product gets a lot of hype and I have to say, it deserves every bit of it!

On a daily basis I don't wear eye shadow. All I do to my eyes is curl my lashes using my Shu Uemura eyelash curler and then apply my L'Oreal Telescopic waterproof mascara. The combination of these two steps makes my eyelashes look amazing (if I do say so myself!) and my eyes stand out, without the need of eye liner or eye shadow which is great on a daily basis.

Moving back to the skin, I next powder my forehead, nose and chin using Mac Mineralise Skin Finish Natural. This powder is lovely to use as it is really light and doesn't look or feel cakey or powdery! My skin is left looking natural and radiant which is lovely.

On a daily basis I don't tend to use bronzer, however I am starting to use it more and my favourite is Clarins Bronzing Duo. It is a gorgeous natural colour that leaves my pale skin looking healthy and sun kissed!

For blusher I have two that I tend to switch between. They are Mac Well Dressed which is a pure pink colour with subtle shimmer and Nars Deep Throat which is a pink, peach colour also with subtle shimmer. I just apply my blusher to the apples of my cheeks and both of these leave a healthy, radiant colour.

Finally for lips I wear my Clarins Instant Lip Perfector in 01, Rose Shimmer. This is a pretty pink colour that feels as though it just melts into my lips leaving them hydrated and moisturised. I have recently bought the Korres lip butter in Jasmine and I am going to be writing a full review on this very soon as it is creeping it's way into my everyday make up routine!

That is my make up routine! I hope you enjoyed this post!

Which products do you use on a daily basis? Do you use any of these products?

YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation

I popped into Debenhams over a month ago now to pick myself up a sample of YSL Touche Eclat Foundation and I was so excited to try it! This foundation comes in 22 shades which is amazing and they are arranged into three categories. There are beige dore shades which are golden, beige rose shades which are rosy/pink and beige shades which are the neutral shades. The shade I have is BR10 (the fairest of them all!) and it matches me perfectly.

I absolutely love this foundation! I have been using it for about 4 weeks now and it has quickly become my everyday foundation. This provides a light coverage which is really lightweight on the skin. It doesn't feel or look like I am wearing foundation and the finish is radiant, glowing and natural. It blends effortlessly and although the coverage is light, it does actually cover up redness and blemishes really well - I hardly need any concealer afterwards. I was surprised at how well this covered up blemishes whilst still having light coverage and looking natural.

The centre of my face can get slightly oily and because this foundation is very dewy I did wonder whether it would be suitable for my skin, but thankfully the staying power is actually pretty good. I powder down the centre of my face only and by the end of the day this foundation is still on all of my face and still providing some coverage, however it could do with being touched up. I don't usually touch up my make up during the day (laziness!) and I can easily get away with not touching this up.

This foundation is available here for £28 - I didn't think that was a bad price for a YSL foundation, and considering the Touche Eclat pen is £25!

Have you tried this foundation? Do you like the sound of it? Let me know!

Clarins Water Purify One Step Cleanser

I bought the Clarins Water Purify One Step Cleanser a couple of months ago. I really love it because it doesn't require water which is great for those evenings when I am just too tired to wash my face. I just need to soak a couple of cotton pads with this and wipe them over my face to remove my make up. I have used cleansers before that don't require water and they leave my skin feeling horrible and like I need to wash it, however this one leaves my skin feeling amazing - I love using it because my skin feels fresh and really clean. On a daily basis I love using this before I cleanse my face. I just remove all of my make up with this and then cleanse my face with water as usual.

I finished my first bottle of this last week and went straight out to buy another one. I also have a travel size bottle of this which is the one in the photo (you can see the full size one in the background). This removes my make up amazingly well and it is something I think I will carry on repurchasing. It also removes eye make up quite well however I tend to wear waterproof mascara which it doesn't remove. The cleanser I have is the one with mint essential water for combination / oily skin. They also do one with peach essential water for normal / dry skin. I would definitely recommend giving this a look and seeing if you can have a sample to try.

This is available here for £19 for 200ml.

Have you tried this before? Are there any cleansers you would recommend?

YSL Touche Eclat Highlighter Pen

I have heard many, many, many amazing things about this product, however for some reason I never really thought about getting it! I think because I don't have very bad under eye circles I wasn't sure if I really needed this or if it would benefit me too much. This product has so much hype surrounding it and it is one of the best selling make up products so I finally decided to take the plunge and get it and I am honestly so happy I did.

I have been using this everyday for a week now and I think it does deserve all the hype it gets! It is just amazing! I took me about 50 clicks to even get any product out in the first place. I actually thought for a moment it didn't work but then I read the instructions (that sounds bizarre - instructions for a highlighter!) which said it needed around 30 clicks or so when first used. Once I did get some product out I applied it under my eyes and around my nose. I don't get particularly bad under eye circles by any means, however the slight discolouration I do get was covered up easily by this product. This is a highlighter so I wouldn't use it for blemishes or anything that needs a lot of coverage but for under eye circles and slight redness around the nose, this does provide enough coverage.

It's a very lightweight consistency that effortlessly blends and it is so smooth. I use my fingers to blend this into my skin and it just melts in lovely. It instantly makes my eyes look more awake. I am so happy I purchased it finally because it just brightens up my face and makes me look more radiant and awake.

I cannot say enough good things about this product and I just adore it! It comes in many shades and I have the shade 01 which is the original highlighter shade.

Have you tried the YSL Touche Eclat? Do you use any highlighter pens?

Look Beauty Loud Lips Lipstick

I popped into Superdrug the other day to have a look at the make up - I don't go into Superdrug that often any more for make up, I tend to go to Debenhams or Boots. I thought I would go in to have a little wander round and I noticed Look Beauty make up. I have heard a couple of things about their lipsticks, so I decided to pick up the shade 02, Tangerine Cream.

The packaging reminds me of Burberry lipsticks, although obviously not quite as luxurious considering the price difference! The lipstick has a magnetic closure which I really like - oh the little things that can excite me!

The lipstick itself is a lovely creamy texture. I swatched this on my hand in the shop and I honestly couldn't believe how creamy it was considering the price. It's very very creamy and almost feels slightly moisturising on the lips. My lips were slightly dry and I didn't use a lip balm before this because as soon as I got home I just wanted to try it on. It did cling slightly and sink into any dry bits (lovely) on my lips so I took it off, applied a lip balm and applied this lipstick again and it was so much better! It glided on so smoothly and left a gorgeous finish.

In the bullet this looks more orange than pink and I was slightly disappointed because once on the lips it is definitely more pink than orange. It is however still a gorgeous peachy pink colour with a small hint of orange. (How many times can I say pink and orange! Pink, orange, pink, orange.)

I would say the finish this leaves on the lips is in between being matte and having a very slight glossy sheen to it. I really like this lipstick and it doesn't dry out my lips at all, however if my lips are already dry when I apply it then it does accentuate that. Just apply a lip balm first and everything will be fine and dandy!

I would love to go and purchase more of these lipsticks in other colours because this one is so lovely, however there are only 5 colours altogether and none of the others appealed to me. I really like this lipstick and it's available from Superdrug for £7.

Seche Vite

This top coat is amazing. Absolutely blooming amazing! As you may have read here, I was having my Shellac removed so I thought as I would be painting my nails for the first time in a couple of months I would treat myself to a new top coat! I don't tend to use a base coat when I paint my nails so I applied my nail polish which was Essie Fiji and then I applied this over the top when my nail polish was starting to dry and was sort of tacky. This applied really nicely over the top and didn't smudge the nail polish at all. It dried almost instantly! I couldn't believe how quickly it actually did dry. I applied it over my nails on one hand and by the time I had applied it to the little finger nail, my thumb nail was dry! It leaves my nails so shiny, like a mirror! Okay, well I can't really see myself in them, but they are shiny!

Seche describe this as a top coat that penetrates through the nail polish to the base coat (does this mean I should have applied a base coat?!) to form a solid coating on the nail. My nail polish lasted for 9 whole days looking perfect and without a single chip! I really love this top coat and the bottle seems massive! It's 14ml which I think is about average for a nail polish but it seems really big. I have used this twice now and the bottle still looks full (as you can see in the photo) so I can imagine this will last a long time.

I would 100% recommend this top coat. I got mine from Boots but I can't find this on their website. You can get it from Asos for £10.50.

What is your favourite top coat? Do you use a base coat? I never have so I don't know if it makes a difference?!

OOTD #3 - Summer Outfit and Thank You!

The sun has finally come out to say hello!

I bought this dress in the Topshop sale a couple of weeks ago and I love it! It is a really, really bright coral colour which is perfect for the summer. I don't know how to describe the pattern on this dress - it's not even a pattern really, just horizontal stripe detailing. There is a silky coral underskirt so the bottom of the dress is not see through which is great! I have worn a black vest underneath which you can see in the photos. I wore this because the top part of the dress is slightly see through, however because of the open back I do think it would look better without a vest! What a dilemma!

The top part of the dress isn't tight but it's quite fitting. Around the waist it nips in a bit and then the dress flows out into the skirt bottom. I love this dress and definitely think I will be getting a lot of wear out of it over the next couple of summer months (maybe not months, probably weeks! This is England!)

I can't find this online however I did see it a couple of days ago in Topshop so they still have some in stock!

I also wanted to say a huge thank you to all of my lovely followers, readers and those of you that comment on my posts! It honestly makes me so happy when I see I have a new follower or a new comment on one of my posts and I absolutely love replying to you all, so thank you!

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and I have quite a few posts lined up for next week so keep your peepers peeled!

Clarins Bronzing Duo

I went to the Clarins counter the other day to look at their bronzing duo after hearing Anna say how lovely it was. I swatched it on my hand and knew straight away I wanted it! I couldn't believe how velvety and soft it felt in the compact and the colour is so lovely. I got shade 01 light because I am so fair. It comes in 3 colours, 01 light, 02 medium and 03 dark.

The colour on the left is the lightest shade and is a matte colour only slightly darker then my skin. The colour on the right is a slightly shimmery, darker shade which adds a lovely warm glow to the face. There is only a small amount of shimmer in this which means it makes the skin look radiant and glowing. Having the two shades is lovely because I can use the matte shade to contour and the more shimmery shade to add a bronzed glow to my cheeks. I can also just mix both shades together which leaves a gorgeous sun kissed colour on the skin - this is what I tend to do and I love it.

I love the packaging of this product. It comes in a little velvet pouch and the compact is very sturdy and has a lovely big mirror. It doesn't come with a little brush - I like this because usually little brushes aren't very good anyway so this means there is room for more bronzer! I love using my Mac 187 brush with this as it doesn't pick up too much product and I can just dust it across my cheeks. When the sun comes out a bit more I think this will look lovely dusted all over the face to achieve more of a bronzed look. (Hopefully the sun will come out soon!) I love this bronzer - I don't tan easily in the summer so I always like using a bronzer and I think this will be my go to bronzer this summer!

This bronzer is available from Debenhams and other department stores for £26.

What is your favourite bronzer? Which products do you rely on in the summer?
