Clarins Graphic Expression powder

You may have seen this beautiful product popping up recently (here and here), so I thought I would write a full review for you. I received this for Christmas and it is so pretty. I love that Clarins products always come in lovely velvet pouches and the outside of this is like a mirror!

This is the Clarins Graphic Expression powder which is made up of pinks, bronzes and a little bit of glitter. The gold strip of shimmer on this left my skin quite glittery, however thankfully it goes after a couple of uses. Whilst the gold was still coming onto my brush, I found this too glittery to bring onto my temples as a bronzer.

Once the glitter had gone, I started using this more often and love it! It is made up of beautiful bronze and pink tones, which compliment each other and my skin really well. I find this very versatile, as I can use all the shades equally to add some colour all over my face, or focus more on the pinks for a rosy blush on my cheeks.

I find this starts off light and is very buildable. I like this as I am fairly pale, so don't like something too heavy. This adds a lovely, natural glow to my skin, which I can easily build up if I would like to look more bronzed. This always leaves my skin looking natural and radiant, however much I build it up!

Have you tried this? I would love to know if you have used any similar products which I could try.

New makeup editions: Face

I posted my Everyday Makeup routine last week and thought I would go into more detail on some of the new editions to my makeup collection.

The Rimmel Match Perfection foundation is a new foundation to me and I love it. The colour, Light Porcelain, is a perfect match for my skin. It feels very lightweight and provides slightly buildable coverage. Once applied, this just leaves my skin looking natural and even, with a slight glow.

I posted a comparison of the Seventeen Phwoarr Paint concealer and my Bobbi Brown Corrector last week which you may be interested in. I really like using creamy concealers under my eyes and this one from Seventeen is amazing. It covers any discolouration perfectly, whilst not being too thick, heavy or creasing. I find it blends very well and stays put all day! Someone told me they use this on blemishes, so I may give that a go. I don't know if anything could beat my beloved Collection Lasting Perfection concealer though!

The Max Factor Crème Puff powder has a lovely scent to it. If you don't like scented products then you may not like this, as I find it is quite powerful. The shade I have is translucent, however I find it does have a bit of colour to it and if I put a lot on, it looks too dark. This controls my oily nose well without leaving my skin looking matte and dull. I don't like using a powder that's going to make my skin look dull, as I love the radiant finish my foundation provides.

My final new edition is the Clarins Face and Blush powder. The colours in this are gorgeous and together create a natural glow to the skin. There is a gold strip of glitter on this, however after a couple of uses it completely goes. I love focusing this on my cheeks and then bringing it onto my forehead and nose with a big fluffy brush.

My everyday makeup : 2

For Christmas I was lucky enough to receive some lovely new makeup products. I have also bought a couple of new products recently and love them, so have started using them everyday!

Recently I bought the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation. I bought this a couple of years ago, however I had it in the shade darker which didn't match me, so I never wore it. The colour I bought the other week is 010, Light Porcelain which matches me perfectly.

Under my eyes I use my new Seventeen Phwoarr Paint concealer. I am scheduling a comparison post of this and the Bobbi Brown Corrector soon, so you can read my thoughts!

The Collection Lasting Perfection concealer is a product I have used and loved for ages. It does the job of covering blemishes perfectly, whilst also being an amazing price!

I received the Max Factor Crème Puff powder for Christmas and have been wearing it almost everyday since. It has a scent to it, so if you don't like scented products this may not be for you, however I think it's lovely.

My parents bought me the Clarins Graphic Expression Face and Blush powder for Christmas. This product is gorgeous and gives my skin a lovely colour. The colour it gives is suitable for using all over the face as it's very natural. I focus this more on my cheeks and then dust any extra across my forehead, nose and chin.

I use Mac Charcoal Brown eye shadow through my eyebrows and then set that with Maybelline BrowDrama. These products together leave my eye brows looking natural and defined.

The L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara is a new release I believe. I saw it in Boots the other week and being the mascara lover I am, had to buy it! I really love how this leaves my lashes looking.

I really like the Revlon lip butters as they leave my lips moisturised and soft with a nice hint of colour. The colour I use is Strawberry Shortcake which is very pretty, plus the colour is buildable.

I used a few of these products in my New Years Eve makeup video, so you can watch that if you'd like to see how I apply them.

I may post an everyday makeup video soon, so then you can see how all of these products apply. Let me know if you would be interested in watching that!

Please let me know in the comments below your favourite makeup products!

Clarins Water Purify One Step Cleanser

I bought the Clarins Water Purify One Step Cleanser a couple of months ago. I really love it because it doesn't require water which is great for those evenings when I am just too tired to wash my face. I just need to soak a couple of cotton pads with this and wipe them over my face to remove my make up. I have used cleansers before that don't require water and they leave my skin feeling horrible and like I need to wash it, however this one leaves my skin feeling amazing - I love using it because my skin feels fresh and really clean. On a daily basis I love using this before I cleanse my face. I just remove all of my make up with this and then cleanse my face with water as usual.

I finished my first bottle of this last week and went straight out to buy another one. I also have a travel size bottle of this which is the one in the photo (you can see the full size one in the background). This removes my make up amazingly well and it is something I think I will carry on repurchasing. It also removes eye make up quite well however I tend to wear waterproof mascara which it doesn't remove. The cleanser I have is the one with mint essential water for combination / oily skin. They also do one with peach essential water for normal / dry skin. I would definitely recommend giving this a look and seeing if you can have a sample to try.

This is available here for £19 for 200ml.

Have you tried this before? Are there any cleansers you would recommend?

Clarins Bronzing Duo

I went to the Clarins counter the other day to look at their bronzing duo after hearing Anna say how lovely it was. I swatched it on my hand and knew straight away I wanted it! I couldn't believe how velvety and soft it felt in the compact and the colour is so lovely. I got shade 01 light because I am so fair. It comes in 3 colours, 01 light, 02 medium and 03 dark.

The colour on the left is the lightest shade and is a matte colour only slightly darker then my skin. The colour on the right is a slightly shimmery, darker shade which adds a lovely warm glow to the face. There is only a small amount of shimmer in this which means it makes the skin look radiant and glowing. Having the two shades is lovely because I can use the matte shade to contour and the more shimmery shade to add a bronzed glow to my cheeks. I can also just mix both shades together which leaves a gorgeous sun kissed colour on the skin - this is what I tend to do and I love it.

I love the packaging of this product. It comes in a little velvet pouch and the compact is very sturdy and has a lovely big mirror. It doesn't come with a little brush - I like this because usually little brushes aren't very good anyway so this means there is room for more bronzer! I love using my Mac 187 brush with this as it doesn't pick up too much product and I can just dust it across my cheeks. When the sun comes out a bit more I think this will look lovely dusted all over the face to achieve more of a bronzed look. (Hopefully the sun will come out soon!) I love this bronzer - I don't tan easily in the summer so I always like using a bronzer and I think this will be my go to bronzer this summer!

This bronzer is available from Debenhams and other department stores for £26.

What is your favourite bronzer? Which products do you rely on in the summer?

Clarins Daily Energizer Cream - Gel

I went to the Clarins counter a few weeks ago and was recommended this moisturiser for my skin. I get slightly oily around my nose and the rest of my skin is normal except for the occassional dry patch on my cheeks. This moisturiser was recommended because it's cream-gel so will moisturise and hydrate my skin and any dry areas but is also non-oily and light. I was given a sample of this and used it everyday for about one week morning and evening. I loved it so much that I went back and bought a full size pot. I use this everyday and it has really helped any dry areas on my face disappear as it moisturises my skin so well. My skin looks and feels healthy and it makes my skin so smooth. Because it is cream - gel it is very refreshing on the skin and not too heavy or thick. It's hydrating, creamy and moisturising but also sinks into the skin fairly quickly so I can apply my makeup almost immediately after in the morning which is good. The only bad thing I find about this moisturiser is that it doesn't have an spf so I need a separate spf. This is definitely my new favourite moisturiser!

This moisturiser is available here for £20.

What's your favourite moisturiser? Have you tried any of the Clarins Energizer products?
